Louis Philippe Burled Walnut Commode with Black & White Marble Top, circa 1840–1870

A handsome French Louis Philippe four-drawer commode in beautifully grained burled walnut with original black and white marble top. Richly figured bookmatched veneer across drawer fronts showcases the mesmerizing wood grain patterns characteristic of the period. Concealed top drawer (no visible pulls) opens to reveal hidden storage. Three fitted long drawers below with original brass pulls and hardware. Turned column supports with brass ring mounts. Plinth base with shaped feet. Solid, stable construction throughout with all drawers functioning smoothly.

Condition: Excellent. Original black and white marble top in great condition. All four drawers (including hidden top drawer) functional and smooth-operating. Original hardware intact and working. Walnut finish shows warm patina. Minor age-related cracks visible on side panels—typical of period wood movement and appropriate to the age and provenance. No structural concerns.
