Italian 3-Panel Hand-Planed Oak Door with Wrought Iron Hardware, Early 1900s

A working, unrestored piece retaining its honest patina and period authenticity.

Provenance
Sourced from Pitigliano, a historic hilltop town in southern Tuscany known for salvage from local properties and estates. Hand-planing throughout—visible as subtle surface rippling—indicates pre-mechanized or early artisanal production, typical of rural Italian workshops before widespread machine tooling circa 1910s.
Styling & Use
A distinctive functional or display piece for period interiors, farmhouse renovations, or collectors of European vernacular architecture. The hand-planed surfaces and original wrought iron are unmistakable markers of 19th–early 20th-century craftsmanship. Suitable for interior installation, entryway display, wine cellar, or as a statement architectural element in contemporary or eclectic spaces. The scale and sturdy oak construction make this a substantial, authentic accent for designers and collectors seeking documented European sourcing and period authenticity.
An exceptional acquisition for those collecting Tuscan architectural salvage, hand-forged iron hardware, or authentic vernacular European doors where original hardware and construction methods remain intact.
