Early 19th Century Italian Louis Philippe Walnut & Grey Marble Bedroom Suite
Nightstands & Dresser Set
A refined and authentic three-piece bedroom suite sourced directly from a Roman estate. This matched set exemplifies the restrained elegance of the Louis Philippe period, circa 1870, with original grey marble tops and hand-crafted walnut construction throughout.
What's Included
Pair of nightstands: 19¾" W × 14½" D × 30¾" H each Dresser: 49¼" W × 21¼" D × 37" H Three original grey marble tops
The Pieces
Each nightstand features a single drawer and paneled cabinet door opening to interior storage, supported by turned walnut legs with simple brass hardware. The matching dresser combines a drawer above two cabinet doors with the same refined proportions and hardware, all finished in warm, naturally aged walnut. Hand-cut dovetail joinery throughout (visible in drawer interiors) confirms period construction.
Provenance
This suite carries documented Roman provenance — an original shipping label from Cavaliere Emilio De-Bernardi, a Roman furniture maker based on the Via del Corso, is attached to the dresser. This direct sourcing from Rome adds authenticity and historical context to the pieces.
Condition & Character
Recently professionally restored: minor repairs to cabinetry, drawer maintenance, and light waxing. Original grey marble tops remain intact with authentic patina. Each piece carries the warm patina of nearly 150 years in Italian light and use — subtle wear, natural color variation, and the unmistakable depth that only time provides. This is working antique furniture, not a reproduction.

A note on antiques: Antiques aren't new — that's the whole point. Every scratch, patina mark and sign of age is a badge of honour, not a defect. Detail photos are unfiltered and show the piece exactly as it is. We're happy to provide additional photos or videos upon request. All sales are final, so take a good look, ask us anything, and buy what you love.
