Provenance & Context

Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, located in France's Nord department, was a major center of porcelain production during the 19th century. The factory of Saint-Amand et Hamage produced refined tableware for both domestic and export markets, known for hand-painted botanical patterns combined with classical proportions. This bowl exemplifies mid-Victorian taste: the delicate blue-and-white palette, scrollwork borders, and botanical motifs reflect the period's reverence for naturalism and refined domesticity.

Styling & Use

Display on a sideboard, console, or shelf as a sculptural decorative accent. The generous width and dual handles make it ideal for styling with botanicals, dried flowers, or as a standalone decorative object. Pairs beautifully with botanical prints and eclectic or traditional interiors.

A refined accent for collectors of French porcelain, Victorian tableware, and 19th-century European ceramics.

Roman Estates sources authentic 18th–20th century Italian and European antiques directly from private Roman estates and historic dealers. Each piece is individually selected for quality, provenance, and design merit.

A note on antiques: Antiques aren't new — that's the whole point. Every scratch, patina mark and sign of age is a badge of honour, not a defect. Detail photos are unfiltered and show the piece exactly as it is. We're happy to provide additional photos or videos upon request. All sales are final, so take a good look, ask us anything, and buy what you love.
