Provenance & Context
These heavy cast bronze candelabra-style sconces exemplify neoclassical or rococo-revival European craftsmanship, typical of Italian 19th–20th century domestic lighting. Sourced from a period Roman apartment, they represent the refined taste of Continental interiors where such substantial fixtures were mounted in formal rooms—dining rooms, libraries, or entryways—providing both ambient light and architectural presence.
Styling & Use
Install as a matched pair to flank a mirror, artwork, or fireplace. The substantial weight and ornamental scrollwork suit classical, eclectic, or vintage-inspired interiors. Particularly effective in formal dining rooms, studies, and grand entryways.
A distinctive accent for collectors of European lighting, neoclassical fixtures, and period wall sconces.
Roman Estates sources authentic 18th–20th century Italian and European antiques directly from private Roman estates and historic dealers. Each piece is individually selected for quality, provenance, and design merit.
A note on antiques: Antiques aren't new — that's the whole point. Every scratch, patina mark and sign of age is a badge of honour, not a defect. Detail photos are unfiltered and show the piece exactly as it is. We're happy to provide additional photos or videos upon request.
