Alabaster and Brass Pedestal Dish
A twentieth-century piece — alabaster bowl with warm veining set into a brass pedestal with ornate handles and a shell-motif base.
Use it as a trinket dish for small treasures, a catch-all for jewelry on the nightstand, a butter dish on the table, or purely as a sculptural object. The patina on the brass adds character without apology.
Condition: Good. Patina on brass.
Origin: Twentieth century
Details:
- Alabaster bowl with tan and rust veining
- Brass pedestal base with shell detailing
- Ornate brass handles
- Originally designed as an ashtray—repurpose as you wish
- 14.5 cm tall × 20 cm diameter
- Decorative and functional
Roman Estates sources authentic 18th–20th century Italian and European antiques directly from private Roman estates and historic dealers. Each piece is individually selected for quality, provenance, and design merit.
A note on antiques: Antiques aren't new — that's the whole point. Every scratch, patina mark and sign of age is a badge of honour, not a defect. Detail photos are unfiltered and show the piece exactly as it is. We're happy to provide additional photos or videos upon request. All sales are final, so take a good look, ask us anything, and buy what you love.
