Mid-Century Neapolitan Oil Painting: "Nel Pollaio" In the Chicken Coop
A twentieth-century oil painting of a chicken coop interior — roosters, hens, and chicks among scattered straw and climbing vines overhead. Light streams through the slatted roof. The brushwork is loose and assured — the kind of work that captures a moment rather than rendering it perfectly.
Signed by the artist (lower right) U. Zannoni. Housed in its original gold-leaf frame, which carries a label from a Naples frame shop — via Nardones — marking its Italian provenance.
A small scene with real presence.

Roman Estates sources authentic 18th–20th century Italian and European antiques directly from private Roman estates and historic dealers. Each piece is individually selected for quality, provenance, and design merit.
A note on antiques: Antiques aren't new — that's the whole point. Every scratch, patina mark and sign of age is a badge of honour, not a defect. Detail photos are unfiltered and show the piece exactly as it is. We're happy to provide additional photos or videos upon request. All sales are final, so take a good look, ask us anything, and buy what you love.
